Ditch the Couch Adventures was born from a deep love for the outdoors and for South Africa — and a desire to share that passion with others. Langebaan and the quaint surrounding towns of the West Coast deserve to be explored and enjoyed, so we set out to create experiences that bring visitors and locals together around shared interests, and help everyone make the most of everything this incredible region has to offer.
Each month on the West Coast brings something new: for a few short weeks in August and September, the once barren plains burst into spectacular displays of wildflowers. From late October to March the lagoon becomes a water-sports enthusiast's paradise, with stable southerly winds drawing kiters, foilers and sailors from all over the world. Winter, meanwhile, offers windless, calm days with mild temperatures — perfect for cycling, mountain biking, hiking, golf, fishing and more.
The West Coast National Park, Berg River Estuary, Rocherpan, Lamberts Bay and other areas up the West Coast are also birding hotspots, where you can discover common residents and seasonal migrants that constitute the rich birdlife on the West Coast. The key conservation areas of West Coast National Park are the Langebaan Lagoon and the offshore islands in the Saldanha Bay, which together form the Lagoon RAMSAR site, a wetland of international importance.

Join us on guided nature walks through the landscapes of the West Coast — from coastal strolls to trails within the West Coast National Park. We walk at an unrushed pace to enjoy the outdoors and take in the beauty of our surroundings.

Discover the West Coasts' small towns on our relaxed or action packed half-day and full-day tours. Experience life like a local, meet new friends, and leave the driving and organising to us. All you have to do is Ditch the Couch and come explore with us!
